Four cozy games for when you just want to switch off

Not every game session needs to be a challenge. Sometimes you just want something soft to hold your attention while your brain cools down. Cozy games are great at that, and phones are the ideal place for them.

Lantern Tide is my top pick here. You sail a paper boat between islands, light lanterns, and nudge gentle puzzles open. There's no fail state worth mentioning, which is the whole point. The ambient sound alone does half the relaxing.

Skybound Depot scratches a different itch. It's a management sim, so there's a little problem-solving, but it's low stakes. Optimizing a tiny floating airport is weirdly soothing once it's running smoothly.

What ties these together is the absence of pressure. No energy bars, no aggressive push notifications begging you to return, no leaderboards shouting at you. They let you leave and come back whenever.

If your evenings feel like one long notification feed, a cozy game is a small reset button. These are the ones I actually keep installed.
