Mobile racers with controls that don't fight you
The hardest thing about racing on a phone is the controls. No wheel, no analog stick, just glass and your thumbs. Plenty of good-looking racers fall apart the second you hit a tight corner, so I keep a running list of the ones that get it right.
Dust Circuit is my current favorite. The drift-and-boost loop is forgiving enough that beginners can learn it, but tight enough that nailing a long slide feels earned. I run the button layout rather than tilt, which is my general advice for most touch racers.
The trick with tilt controls is sensitivity. Most games default it too high. Drop it a notch and corners stop oversteering into the wall. It took me ages to figure out that half my crashes were a settings problem, not a skill one.
If a racer offers ghost replays, use them. Racing against your own best lap is the single best way to improve, and it's way less frustrating than losing to rubber-band AI.
Short version: good touch racing is about handling that reads your intent. When that works, a phone racer can be every bit as satisfying as the big console ones.
